Stranger

Unwillingly,

I jumped on the train of life,

blinded by my pride,

I felt I could conquer

everyone in my sight.

Friends and enemies,

I recognised at once,

the useful and the useless,

I sorted out on the shelves of my mind.

Believing I was always right,

I started aiming towards the greatest heights.

Along the trails of this train of life,

I kept ignoring and repressing

all that was hiding in my heart of hearts.

A perfect stranger You appeared from the start,

but with every step and every stop,

I started piecing up all Your parts.

You had a turban, flute, peacock feather,

and a smile

that couldn’t belong to anyone

but my Dear Friend Divine.

We have passed a few stops on this train of life,

and I stumbled once or twice,

 yet, You, Dear Friend Divine,

never let me fall behind.

On the final stop,

You grabbed my hand,

and said:

‘Are you ready to dance till your final breath?’

Thus, from a perfect stranger to my heart,

You turned into my eternal Friend Divine.

Always loving, always caring,

always guiding my heart of hearts

on the path towards Your Divine embrace!
